Salvation Comes from only JesusActs‬ ‭4:10-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

The understanding of the significance of these verses first requires an understanding of the situation.

Who is speaking: Peter

Who is he speaking to: The rulers, elders, scribes, the high priest, other high religious officers, and many of the high priest’s family. (The Sanhedrin)

The reason Peter & John were in trouble: They had healed the lame man at the gate called Beautiful in the name of Jesus Christ.

We can now look at the 3 verses:

“Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.”

This sounds like a formal Charge being presented to the whole of Israel against the Sanhedrin! Peter has reversed the charge against He and John by making a much more serious charge against the authorities.

This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

He supports his case against the Sanhedrin by quoting King David in Psalms 118:22 and Isaiah in Isaiah 28:16 (note, he properly gives 2 witnesses, as Jewish law requires for a serious charge such as this!) “At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.” Deuteronomy‬ ‭17:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Finally, he quotes (for the benefit of all present) the essence of the Gospel. This is so different from the 3 time denying Peter of the Gospels!
